The Grammys...musical tribute to Whitney Houston? Adele highly-nominated!
Although, a galaxy of stars will turn out to celebrate the annual Grammy Awards tonight, a pall will undoubtedly hang over the festivities in the wake of the news of Whitney Houston's untimely death.
At press time, police officials were scrambling to determine the events that led up to the tragic event.
An autopsy will ultimately reveal whether the death was accidental (a bathtub drowning?) or due to a possible drug overdose.
Meanwhile, officials at Grammy headquarters are expected to put their best foot forward, with a special last-minute tribute to the Grammy-winning star on this year's telecast.
"We will do something appropriate tomorrow, and nothing could be more appropriate than having Jennifer Hudson sing on stage for Whitney," Neil Portnow, president of the Recording Academy that gives out the Grammys, said on Saturday night at a pre-Grammy party.
Tattler readers may recall that I reported in a prior post that Ms. Whitney was slated to star in a remake of "Sparkle".
The Grammys will be broadcast tonight on CBS.
Some of the nominees this year include Adele (Album of the Year), Bruno Mars (Record of the Year), Mumford & Sons (Song of the Year), The Band Perry (Best New Artist), Lady Gaga (Pop Vocal Album), Foo Fighters (Rock Album), Kanye West (Pop Album).
