"Maharaja...the Splendor of India's Royal Courts"! Dazzling exhibit @ Asian Art Museum!

Since the Tattler has quite a few thousand readers in INDIA, I would be remiss if I did not give advance notice of a dazzling exhibit that is slated to be unveiled at the Asian Art Museum October 21st - April 8th.

"MAHARAJA: The Splendor of India's Royal Courts"

The culturally-rich historical display is one of the first to explore the exotic realms of India's great Kings and their artistic patronage!

The comprehensive exhibit features 200 spectacular works of art (of  Indian and Western origin) and includes elaborate jewled objects, ornate weaponry, Royal Costumes, exquisite paintings, photography, textiles and dress, metalwork, and furniture.

Highlights include the gold throne of Sikh ruler Ranjit Singh, masterpieces of Mughal and Rajasthani painting, the Patiala Necklace (Cartier's largest single commission in history), an enameled carriage, and eclectic photographs by noteworthy photography and celebrated artist Man Ray.
