Zsa Zsa Gabor...celebrates 94th "Birthday" in belated high-style! Kirk Douglas & Larry King & Angie Dickinson invited!
Legendary screen siren - Zsa Zsa Gabor - is tossing a glittering Birthday celebration this evening at her tony estate in Bel Air.
The feisty blond bombshell (only her hairdresser knows for sure!) turned 94 years weeks ago, but due to an onslaught of medical problem over the past few months (which kept her sedated and resting in bed) Ms. Gabor was unable to hold court at the time with well-wishers.
The high-profile star has graced the screen in over 40 feature films, and along the way, has worked with a posse of the most well-respected directors in the industry (John Houston, Vincent Minnelli, and Mervyn LeRoy).
Ms. Gabor also flexed her acting chops on Playhouse 90 productions, when the medium of television was in its heyday, and garnered rave reviews.
The many-times-married former Beauty Queen was actually nominated on a couple of occasions for a prestigious Emmy.
When the majors stopped calling, Gabor held her head high and graciously accepted the offers that came her way.
A couple of kitschy forays into the cheesy "B" movie arena - "Queen of Outer Space", for instance - actually ended up cemented Zsa Zsa's infamy in the hearts of Cult Classic film buffs.
In her later years, the aging actress often appeared with her sisters in tow (Eva & Magda) on the Merv Griffin Show, at which point the ditzy social climber became famous for being - well - famous!
Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton are modern-day examples of the dubious accomplishment.
Ironically, Paris happens to be one of Ms. Gabor's great nieces by virtue of Zsa Zsa's marriage to Hotelier Condrad Hilton.
Fans may recall that Ms.Gabor also tied-the-knot with British actor George Sanders, who ended up in bed with two of the Gabor sisters, by golly!
Raft also walked down the aisle with Zsa Zsa's sister, Magda.
Despite having the image of a scatterbrained broad, it was all for show, according to her closest confidantes.
Long-time handlers describe Gabor as a woman of substance, for instance.
According to her current husband, Zsa Zsa is bed ridden, but more alert than when she first returned from the hospital recently.
"She's comfortable, in no pain, and takes only two pills daily."
Tonight's gala party is expected to elevate the star's mood considerably.
I hope that the Prince gets the wig and make-up right!
About 80 high-profile celebrities have been invited and include actress Angie Dickinson, Kirk Douglas, Hugh Hefner, Larry King, Will Smith, Phyllis Diller, and Nancy Reagan.
Although the event may turn into a media circus, at least the gossip-mongers will be well-fed.
A media tent has been set up and amply stocked with mouth-watering buffet treats, delectable desserts, an assortment of thirst-quenchers, and what-have-you.
"All of Hollywood is a circus," the Prince chuckled to one seasoned pro covering the event.
And, if he has his way, he'll be the Ringmaster!
