The Great Food Truck Race...pulls into Vegas! 2nd Season opener tonight!

The second season premiere of the "Great Food Truck Race" gets rolling tonight (Sunday) on the popular Food Network.

Tyler Florence returns as the upbeat host ready to take viewers on a thrill ride across the country once again.

Eight trucks are competing this year for a whopping $100,000 prize (which could conceivably double in two-seconds-flat depending on the scenarios that go-down).

The eclectic rag-tag band of mobile food purveyors will start in Malibu (CA), then flog their dishes (during the course of the wild hectic race) to the hungry masses in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Denver, Manhattan (Kansas), Memphis, Atlanta, and finally Miami.

Whew!

I've whipped up an appetite already!

Once again, the contestants will have to demonstrate their savvy business acumen - and salesmanship ability - when it comes to marketing and currying favor with finicky eaters.

Here's a run-down on the trucks and what they're offering up:

Cafe Con Leche is serving up scrumptious Cuban Cuisine (including coffee, sandwiches, and desserts) made "con mucho amor".  contact: @CubanCafeMobile.

Devilicious specializes in twisted adult comfort food (!). Examples? Butter-poached lobster with grilled cheese or a BBBLT. The extra Bs stand for extra bacon strips! Will they go over the white line and end up in the ditch with all that decadence? contact: @DeviliciousFood

Hodge Podge has a batch of "anything goes" snacks and entrees to munch on. The vendor is betting that dishes like BBQ-sauced hot dogs (topped with bacon, purple cabbage slaw, and tater tots) are going to be wolfed down and ultimately hit the spot. contact:  @HodgePodgeTruck

Korilla BBQ is a Korean grill (popular with  New Yorkers). The Chefs intend to tantalize mainstream America with bulgogi and tofu burritos. And, educate regular Joe's about the benefits of hormone antibiotic-free pork and chicken. Revolutionary!  contact: @KorillaBBQ
The Lime Truck's motto is "Crisp. Refreshing. California Beach Cuisine" which equates to Yum Yum Lamb Sandwiches, Addiction Quesadilla, and a smattering of other novel dishes. contact: @thelimetruck

Roxy's Grilled Cheese truck specializes in gourmet grilled cheese dishes. Chef James DeSabatino expects to pass muster with the teaming street masses and roar on to win the competition. contact: @RoxysGrilledChz

Seabirds uses local produce and top quality organic ingredients to make organic vegan food. Uh-huh! A menu free of gluten, meat, dairy, and honey products (for starters!). Will blue-collar workers warm up to the idea of cashew ricotta? contact: @SeabirdsTruck

Sky's Gourmet Tacos owners are touting their menu as "Mexican food with a splash of soul". Looks like the cooks will be spicing up the tacos and burritos with a wide range of fillings lovingly cooked in innovative flavorful ways.  contact: @SkysTacos.

Bon Appetit!
