Dalai Lama...relinquishes role of Tibetan Government in exile! His Holiness tours France!
The Dalai Lama (a Facebook friend) just embarked on a 3-day tour of France.
When the Spiritual Master packed and jetted overseas, he was inclined to leave some "baggage" behind, however.
On Monday, His Holiness gave up his role as head of the Tibetan government in exile - and turned the reins over to Lobsang Sangay - a legal scholar who attended prestigious Harvard University in the United States.
When probed by the press, His Holiness noted for the record that rapprochement with the Chinese Government was wholly possible and that he was optimistic that Tibetans could remain with China.
"There would have to be a guarantee that all rights would be granted," he stressed in so many words.
Mr. Sangay is now blessed with the task of negotiating freedom for the Tibetan people.
The Dalai Lama appears to breathing a sigh of relief in the aftermath.
"Today, I'm just a spiritual person without political responsibilities," he beamed.
As it should be!
